Well here we go! Like it, love it, or hate it – we have officially entered the holiday season. It seems to me that Thanksgiving sort of gets lost in the shuffle. Halloween is a big deal for lots of folks. Then the day after Halloween, it’s Christmas. Now I happen to be a BIG Christmas lover. But I really hate to skip over Thanksgiving for one reason – what a great time to think about what we’re thankful for. My own animals (all rescues) and my Winnie’s Wishers are lots and lots of work. They take a tremendous amount of my time and money. But OH do I ever get compensated!! I just love these guys so very much! I am deeply grateful for these furry friends. They mean the world to me.
I’m thankful that two pigs and two donkeys have shelter, companionship, and good nutrition. I’m thankful that everybody here is currently healthy. No one is sick or dying. Even my oldest Wisher (Angel) is doing well right now. I’m thankful for warm, cozy, well-nourished animals who could have been out in the elements as we approach Winter, but instead they are here where Life is Good.
For some reason, the pig pictures won't take a caption. That's Annie in the first picture, with a couple of the chickens. And that's Arnold in the second picture, with a chicken actually standing on him. The pigs and the chickens get along very well!
Okay, and now NONE of the pictures will take a caption. No idea what is wrong. So here's the info. The first pic is of Enoch (in a box). Then there's Mango and Rolly sleeping back-to-back. Next is Gandolf and Winter. Then Cole, Soft Kitty, and Raven. Next is Pipes and Evers. Arby, Rolly, and Butterscotch snoozin on the couch. And finally - Butterscotch in a basket.
Here’s to spending a little time this month thinking about what we’re thankful for. Hope you have a wonderful November!
***ALERT!!! ADDENDUM!!! I had this post all ready for today and then I read an email from Andrea that came in yesterday. SHE IS DOING ONE OF HER WONDERFUL FUNDRAISER AUCTIONS TO BENEFIT WINNIE’S WISH!! I will post about it tomorrow!
