Poor Peep! Our oldest cat had crystals years ago & have been very lucky it has not occurred again. He had the Urinary food which as you mentioned is expensive but we only had one cat on it so that made it easier. Now the same cat is on the special Gastrointestinal food & we have tried the 3 types available & he doesn't really like any of them very much. He is on 3 meds a day but he is not too difficult to pill. I can't imagine how much harder is must be with several cats to deal with. The cost alone is crazy for one cat a month for food & meds. Hopefully Peep will get better soon !!

Crystals are the worst. We are so lucky to have only ever have one cat with them and it was a one time thing. Peep sounds like our Rumpy. We are so lucky he is a treat-head and will take the pill pockets. We were giving Timmy liquid which is much easier maybe...
Purrs for Peep and you all

I will add Peep to my prayer list.

Sending you and Peep purrayers and Power of the Paw. The picture looks like he's eating the food, so maybe just isolate him (even if it means you stand guard) while he eats. Does he eat treats ? Some people find Pill Pockets work. I'm sure glad you got him to the vet in time.

All of us cat people certainly understand your dilemma. It's almost impossible to pill a cat that does not want to take the pill. Of course, he doesn't understand why he's in solitary either. I don't envy you, Chrystal, but my fingers are certainly crossed for you!!

John Bellen

It might be a bit drastic, but what do you think of a perineal urethrostomy?

Ginny& the Fur Family

Prayers for Peeps. Maybe you could feed Peeps in the bathroom and feed the other house pets and take all their food away for the night while peeps is eating. Those problems are so hard to fight with one pet while others are eating regular food - The food I got for my pet didn't taste very good so he had to be very hungry to eat it. Good luck with dear Peeps.

Sweet Purrfections

Sending good thoughts to Peep. Brulee was extremely difficult to pill, but I found a product that she loved and would gladly take her pills. Please look into Tomlyn Pill Masker. Maybe it would help.

Oh Poor Peep!! We can't medicate any of our cats, too strong! Thankfully we havent had to do much and the vet has been able to do injections when needed. Both Leo and Cashmere have had crystals, the vet said fish causes it, so we don't do any kind of fish food here, and no crystals in years, knock on wood! I hope Peep lets you pill him! Praying he gets over this quickly and it doesnt come back!

Friends, while Peep is not a Wisher, the more we help the wishers the less Chrystal has to use her own funds, which can than go to Peep's medical care, so help a wisher, save a permanent resident! Donations and wish list items always needed and appreciated!

Annette Kinglock-Murray

I hope that Peep will be alright soon. He's such a beautiful cat. He reminds me of my adorable black cat that we called, Black Pointe. All the best to you and Peep.
