First let me thank you for your sweet comments on yesterday’s post about Jazzy. I know all of you are animal lovers and you know what it’s like to lose one. Your kindness is appreciated.
But I promised happier things for today – Merry Things.
We have kittens again at Christmas time this year. Mango and Butterscotch are the two orange kittens who nearly died but who survived and now call our home theirs. Most kittens are pretty interested in a Christmas tree. Over the years, we’ve had some who were terrors and some who showed only a mild interest. And then there was Suds – a cat from our past who NEVER outgrew climbing into the middle of our Christmas trees . . . year after year after year. This year, Mango’s only interest in the tree is to sit beside it and watch his “kitten sister” climb the tree, bat the ornaments, find her way into the middle, and eventually dislodge at least one or two ornaments each and every day. Yep. That little angelic-looking Butterscotch is a tree terror. I have one broken ornament now. And I put ornaments back on the tree daily. Our little terror is a Christmas tree nightmare. (And I can’t stop taking pictures – smile.)
Andrea’s auction to benefit the cats of Winnie’s Wish is coming to an end (ends tonight at midnight). As far as I can tell, it’s been a huge success. Andrea has asked me off and on over the years what it costs to take care of the Wishers. I don’t actually have a total figure. There is heat, air conditioning, electric bill, water bill, vet care, supplements, food and kitty litter. About the only one of those that I have an actual figure for is kitty litter. That alone costs me $240 a month. So let me say THANK YOU to Andrea again for this amazing fundraiser. And of course, a fundraiser like this doesn’t work if no one participates. To all of you who participated in Andrea’s holiday fundraiser auction for Winnie’s Wish – THANK YOU SO MUCH. I don’t know what I’d do without Andrea and all of the Friends of Winnie’s Wish who’ve made this amazing event so awesome.
Before I close, let me mention a Wish List gift that arrived here for the kitties of Winnie’s Wish.
Belinda, I don’t have an email address for you to send a personal thank you. So Belinda – THANK YOU.
And last week I showed a gift that came without ID. It turns out that gift was from Sue at The Island Cats. Sue - THANK YOU.
Again, thank you to everyone who participated in Andrea’s auction and thank you Andrea from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, also, to all of you for your sweet comments about Jazzy.
I’ll see you next week.
The kittens I have been fostering won’t be with me for Christmas - at least I hope not: they are going on a trial-adoption, and my wish is that they quickly settle in to what will be their permanent home. But I wonder what they would have done to my Christmas tree.

What is a trial adoption? Who could resist sweet kitty faces? I have friends who adopt dogs with problems and they always end up keeping and loving them dearly. I can never figure out how to bid on the things for the auctions. I need someone to walk me through it next time. An auction guide - so I just sent a check - I hope you get it as the mail is iffy this time of year. I love the pictures of the orange kitties. What are their names again? Litter cost a bushel and a peck of money. Even if scooped every day the change soon comes anyway. What kind of litter do you use best? I use the non clumping but some use the clumping. We love the tree climbing pictures. Thanks for coming on the blog and keeping us updating us on what is going on at Winnie's Wish.

Tree kitten is happy! lol! Goodness, what a handful, but such a wonderful handful! I love that the brother just sits and watches her, what a good boy!
Yay for wish list gifts! Friends, they are always needed, so if you care to spread some holiday cheer, send a wish list item or two or make a donation! Yay!
And yup, the auction ends at midnight! There are several things that don't have bids and lots that can still be bid on! So come on and have a peek! Every bid helps the Wishers! https://winnieswishauction.blogspot.com/

What a cutie she is right in that tree searching for fun. We joined in the auction and hope that little bit helps. Thanks for the fun post
