Boy Blue and Binks are brothers I really want to get into their very own forever home. They came in as part of a family: mom Betty Lou with her three boys – Bojangles, Boy Blue, and Binks. Betty Lou and Bojangles are busy living The Good Life. Boy Blue and Binks still need a home.
Binks is a good boy. He doesn’t cause any trouble in the cathouse. He gets along with all of the other cats. Binks lets me pet him, but he isn’t crazy about being picked up. And he still spooks easily. My fear for Binks is that if he doesn’t get adopted WITH his brother Boy Blue, he might never be Chosen. Even if he should be so lucky, it would be a rough adjustment for him in a new home without a friend. SO . . . I’m still hopeful that Binks and Boy Blue will be adopted together. It would be one of those situations where the adopter would get two different experiences out of the adoption. Binks will probably take a very long time to adjust and might never be as connected to his human (although I’ve been wrong before). But while Binks is taking a long time to adjust, I believe Blue will be connecting to his new human with more intensity and in a shorter period of time. Binks might not give a lot, especially at first. But Boy Blue is such a great cat that if someone adopted these two together, I feel like the rewards would be super.
I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned that Blue experienced some depression when his other brother, Bojangles, was adopted. He and Bo were best friends. In fact, they often left Binks out of their “relationship.” After Bo left, I noticed that Blue was building his relationship with his only remaining family member – Binks. They are now even closer than ever before. This is another reason why I’d love to see them adopted together.
Boy Blue is a sweet, sweet cat. Like Binks, I’ve never seen him antagonize any of the other cats he lives with. But it goes farther than that. He actually wants to be friends with everybody. Some of the cats in Blue’s room are disinterested in him. For instance, Kizzie has virtually no response at all when Blue bumps heads with him or rubs against him when they’re walking. He does with Bunny, too, and she is more willing to respond. She’ll bonk heads back with him. And I’ve seen her lick him on the face. Blue has really shown his true colors since Sunspot has moved into that room. Sunspot initially went into the enclosure in that room so that she and the other cats could adjust to each other’s smells, etc. while being kept apart. All of the cats made their way over to stare in at the newcomer. There was some hissing at first, but everyone eventually accepted that there was a new Wisher in the mix. It was when I started letting Sunspot out into the population that I noticed JUST how great a cat Blue really is. Sunspot is less-than-happy about the other cats getting too close. (I hope this is temporary as I’d love to get Sunspot adopted, too.) Anyway, as the cats approached Sunspot during these “trials” of mixing her with the population, most have opted to leave her alone after the first or second hiss. Not Blue. He just keeps trying. He walks over to her again and again for a head bonk. She hisses; he hurriedly walks away. But before long I’ll notice that he’s slinking around near her again. When she isn’t looking his way, he walks by her and rubs his entire body down the side of hers. Oddly, as he continues to try to be near her and touch her and be her friend, she is hissing less and less at him. Sweet Boy Blue. He loves all of the cats and wants them all to love him.
Blue is going to make a really nice family member for someone out there. If he can bring along his brother Binks, everybody wins. That human is a hero for giving a forever home to TWO cats. That human is also a hero for opening TWO spots at Winnie’s Wish. The human is rewarded with the relationship he or she will have with Blue. And Blue will have his very own human. Binks will eventually adjust and be a very lucky cat to have his very own home (with his brother).
Make a Winnie’s WISH with me, Friends. For a wonderful, patient, loving forever home for Boy Blue and Binks.
See you tomorrow.
Blue Boy and Binks are beautiful. Cats need friends just like people. I too have watched the bonding process and the grief process as one goes on out of their lives. Some through death and some through adoption. I saw my cat Chance grieve him self to death when his friend Chi suddenly died of old age. You are so right about some one being a hero and taking a chance on adopting two together. Prayers for some one to step up and adopt these wonderful kitties. Beautiful day to day here in Fur a Way Land. My wish is that God would make life easier for all the strays out there in the dark of night who will never have a warm place such as Winnies Wish home with Chrystal. There are so many in need. So very many hungry sad eyes shinning in the dark.

What a sweetheart! And you never know about the shy one. My 'shy' sister wound up being Greg's best buddy, she adores him! She would cuddle on him 24/7 if she could. So you never know, it takes just the right person, might not be you, might be your mate! (or child, or parent) but you'll never know until you try! So please, if you have room in your home, open your heart to what could be a wonderful new fur family! And if you don't have room, share please, you never know who you know who might be the one special person to love them!
Don't forget donations and wish list items please!
