Today is Giving Tuesday. I think it is a WONDERFUL thing. This IS the Season of Giving. And though most of us give (when and what we can) off and on all year long, it’s during the current Season that the MOST giving occurs. I want to be part of a mission to remind people that giving to Causes of all kinds is important. There are fantastic organizations – some big, some small – that do amazing work to help people, animals, and the environment. Most of these organizations could not provide the kind of help that they currently do if not for the support from average folks giving what they can.
Many of you reading here are supporters of Winnie’s Wish. Help comes to Winnie’s Wish by way of some direct donations, but more often as items delivered here from The Wish List. Then there are things like Auctions – the most recent one being Andrea’s Holiday Auction that just occurred last month. Last Winter was the auction for the Building Fund and the GoFundMe campaign for the same goal – to add a third room to the cathouse. Support comes to Winnie’s Wish by means of Facebook Shares and Tweets and supportive comments on the blog. And of course, the biggest need here is for perfect forever homes – ADOPTIONS – for the homeless cats and kittens who live at Winnie’s Wish.
If you’re reading here today then you’re already a supporter of Winnie’s Wish. And you are deeply appreciated. If not for this kind of help from wonderful folks like you, I know Winnie’s Wish could not have grown as it has. What I’m saying is this – I know firsthand what it means to have support. This is true for all kinds of organizations all over this planet. I hope you will choose a Cause and give to it today. I did. Pick ANY great Cause that you feel especially connected to. Imagine a world where everyone who can, does. It’s important for the residents of this world to never lose sight of the fact that there is always an organization somewhere that can use our help. Today is a reminder of that.
And speaking of this very thing . . . Winnie’s Wish received the following gifts from the Wish List with a note that said – Happy Holidays Chrystal! I am so thankful for you! How amazing is it that gifts arrive here with thanks to me when I am the one who is thankful for the support!
Maria – THANK YOU.
Tomorrow I’ll post another It Was Worth It story. And please promise that you will stop by on Thursday – I have a couple of videos of two Wishers that you just can’t miss.
Happy Giving Tuesday!
This is a great reminder of what can be a great need. Not just for Chrystal and Winnie's wish, but other shelters and organizations all over the world. Of course Chrystal would love it if you chose to support her, and so would I since I love this rescue so much! But if you don't, please choose to support someone, somewhere. Thank you!
A huge need here is adoptions! So if you can't share green papers, share a kitty! Help get some wonderful kitties into wonderful homes!
Speaking of the auction! If you won a bid and haven't heard from me, my email might be in your spam folder! Contact me at anniclan AT aol DOT com please! There are several people who haven't responded yet!

A lovely post & reminder for Giving Tuesday! It is truly a joy to be a supporter & a very small part of Winnie's Wish! Thank you, Chrystal, for all that you do for these animals that are fortunate enough to cross your path! You are part of the solution & making a difference & that in itself is a wonderful thing!
Now...off to do some Wish List shopping!

Ginny,
As best I can tell, you won the bid on the following item:
Christmas Tree String Lights
Spitty the Kitty $5
Ginny & the Fur Family $15
If you click on the "Andrea and the Celestial Kitties" link above at the end of Andrea's comment, that will bring you to Andrea's blog. Perhaps you will have better luck leaving a comment there for her. Hope this helps!

Thank you for blogging about Giving Tuesday. Until now I didn't know there was this wonderful day on our calendar. It sounds to me though that you treat each day as giving day, caring for the cats and finding them homes. Jazz, my feline friend, and I thank you for all that you do to make sure so many cats have the best lives possible.

Giving Tuesday is a wonderful idea, and I always support my favorite shelters on this day. After the commercialism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it's nice to think of giving back. A wonderful post, Chrystal!
