If you’re on Facebook, you may have already seen this. It’s such a lovely thing to have happen that I wanted to share it with you wonderful Friends who support Winnie’ Wish. A week ago today, a fantastic lady visited the Winnie’s Wish cathouse. She is a reporter for a newspaper one county over. Michele toured the three rooms, caught a glimpse of a few kitties, took pictures, and asked me for my story. She asked great questions and during our conversation I discovered that she is a “cat person” herself. Marvelous!
As we talked, I let Michele know that my goal for getting an article like this published in the newspaper is ADOPTIONS. I explained that I needed to get more people to my blog. This blog is where I do the stories of the cats and kittens here who are looking for forever homes. This blog is where (in the sidebar) I have pictures of the adoptable Wishers, and my “donate” button, and the link to how to buy the book, and my Wish List. I told Michele that to grow the pool of potential adopters I needed to reach more folks. THAT could happen if more people visited the blog.
This newspaper only comes out once a week – on Wednesdays. I had no idea when Michele might get the story of Winnie’s Wish into the paper. And of course I assumed it would be a small article. But Michele wasted no time. The story was in yesterday’s edition of The Metropolis Planet. And it wasn’t a tiny article stuck somewhere in the back. It was on the front page! My teeth nearly dropped out of my head when I first saw it. I am grateful to The Metropolis Planet for running an article about a small, private cat rescue and shelter. I am especially grateful to Michele for such a lovely article, for being willing to do the story, and for truly caring about what I do here.
You, Friends, know that I am at my maximum number here. I cannot take in another homeless cat or kitten until I get some adoptions. Hope with me that this newspaper article will direct new folks to Winnie’s Wish via this blog. And hope with me that very soon I will be announcing a whole bunch of wonderful, PERFECT Winnie’s Wish adoptions.
Have a great weekend.
Really praying it will bring potential adopters forward. Even if they do not adopt now, they can spread the word. One (or more) lucky kitties will be that much closer to their forever home.

I Went over and read the article. Michelle writes for The Daily Planet - she loves animals and it shows in the well written article about Chrystal and Winnies wish and the Kennel business and all the rescues, the blog and wish list. The pictures are very good and show how nice the home is for the animals waiting for adoptions. Adoptions is the main purpose of the article. So many fine sweet furries need homes. Go to Winnies wish and look for your furry soul mate. Every one needs their own furries for a furry cuddle up. I read Michelle's column in the Metropolis Planet. She is driven to write about news close to her heart.

As you know I saw this yesterday on facebook. I believe you will get a lot of traction from this article. The more we all share your story to our friends, the more you and the Winnies Wishers will be seen!
Again, so happy you were featured. You are truly an unsung hero for the animals.

Hey Chrystal, did you know that you got a second mention in a column (pretty sure it's also written by Michele)? Check it out: http://www.metropolisplanet.com/view/full_story/26872239/article-From-My-Orbit--Spay-and-neuter-your-pets?.
Nice article, and nice column also. Here's hoping you get lots and lots of adoptions from the exposure.
