I mentioned on Monday that I wanted to share some “Where Are They Now” type posts about some of the Wishers who are out there living The Good Life! My goal is to have some stories available at the click of a picture for people who might be considering the adoption of a Winnie’s Wish cat. These stories will hopefully be testament to the fact that even though a Wisher might be halfway across the country (or even in another country – like in today’s story) from the adopter, those adopters say it was all worthwhile to go the extra mile. And for those Wishers who required a little more patience (or a lot!), their families tell me it was worth it beyond a doubt.
So here’s a story about Ash. Catrina (Cat) adopted Ash just when Winnie’s Wish was getting started. Cat hoped it might be just the thing to inspire others to adopt. After all, if someone from Canada could adopt a kitty from the Midwest in America, surely nearly anyone could. You can scroll down and find his picture in the sidebar. Here’s what Cat has to say about adopting her Jimmy (Ash).
Ash’s Adoption
I have the distinct honour of adopting the very first Winnie’s Wish kitty, his name was Ash and he became our Jimmy. On November 30, 2010 my husband and I drove 518 miles or 833kms (each way) through three States and one Province to bring home the sweetest cat you ever met! With the help of Chrystal and another blogging friend each driving their separate legs of the journey, Jimmy was on his way to his new home in Canada.
His start in life was not tops but a friend of Chrystal’s found him and whisked him away from his humble beginnings, along with his sister Sparkles, to the cozy cathouse where he became a Winnie’s Wish kitty. Chrystal’s kitties are raised on pure love (okay maybe some food too) and Jimmy is one of the happiest, most affectionate and well-adjusted cats that I know. It’s hard to believe that almost five years have passed since his adoption, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat (which incidentally I did in 2011). I thank my lucky stars every single day that Winnie’s Wish was able to rescue Jimmy. I couldn’t imagine my life without waking up each morning to Jimmy’s nose kisses and rumbling purr, his quirky chirping or mischievous antics. Everyone says to us that Jimmy is lucky we adopted him but really we are the lucky ones, he is an extraordinary cat and we love him!
Thank you, Cat, for adopting your Jimmy, driving from Canada into America to get him, and providing him with such a wonderful, loving home.
Aww, we love Ash/Jimmy! We love Cat too! His adoption seemed like a miracle at the time, I remember reading as it was happening! It really did spur so many more adoptions, just look how many are in the adopted category!
See! No matter where you are, if that Wisher is supposed to be yours, he/she can get there! There is help in other people willing to drive a leg of the trip and they are kind of central here in the USA! It IS worth it! For you, for your friends, for your family, for people who know people you know on facebook, twitter, whatever social media you use! So please, please share!!!
We're getting ready to stop pushing the FUNdraiser (though they all stay open) so please jump on board if you haven't yet! Lets make this last big push for the Wishers!
Don't forget the wish list! Direct donations! Chrystal's book! And adoptions!!!!

Thank you Cat for the story of Ash/Jimmy. It shows pure and true love of a human mom for a furry cat named Jimmy. He loves you just as much. Furries show so much love for their humans. love is warm - love is soft - love is a warm soft furry. Please everyone out there consider adopting a furry of your own. Winter will be her soon and every one needs a furry to sleep with to show them warm true furry love. Remember to adopt and always look up and down Chrystal's side bar. There are many beautiful cats and kittens to adopt. Three is better than one. Remember Andrea's beautiful toys in the Fund raiser. Donate is you can. When you adopt -you make a spot for a new rescue kitty. Have a warm -happy day.

I remember Jimmy's(Ash's)adoption like it was yesterday. I can not believe it has been almost 5 years! Wow! Where has the time gone? He has certainly grown into a most handsome mancat! Thank you, Cat, for supporting Winnie's Wish by adopting him & giving him such a great home! He is certainly one lucky fella! I'll be looking forward to his brother's story, too!

No, thank YOU Chrystal! Without your rescue and your efforts I would not have Jimmy or Kip (hope you received his story too) in my life. You are amazing!!!
