If you’ve been reading here for a while, you might remember the West Woods Family. I didn’t know it when I rescued the first one (Yardley), but there were three more family members to come. Slowly, I captured each one and with each new rescue, the relationships began to be revealed. (Those stories are scattered throughout the Summer and Autumn of 2014.) Yardley was first, then Kizzie, then Bunny, and finally Nisha. Kizzie and Bunny are definitely siblings. Yardley is mom to Kizzie and Bunny. And Nisha is either a sister to Yardley, or maybe even Yardley’s mom. The four have always gotten along; in fact, they are all very close. I reported early on that Yardley depended on Nisha for her security. But over time, that relationship has changed. Yardley and Nisha are still friends, but Yardley LIVES TO PLAY. However, she LOVES her family, too. And Kizzie and Bunny live for each other – playing hard together and playing with mom Yardley, too.
Since I only just updated about this little family not that long ago, you’re probably wondering why I’m talking about them again. Well, it’s because I really really really (that’s THREE really’s) want to get these fantastic cats adopted. First of all – Yardley and Nisha have the greatest personalities EVER. They are SO ready for a home. But also – the WAY I’d like to get these cats adopted means that Kizzie and Bunny would get their chance at The Good Life even though they aren’t quite as “people-hungry” as Yardley and Nisha are.
Look. Let me just say it. I want Yardley, Kizzie, and Bunny to be adopted together.
Yeah, I know. THREE CATS ALL AT ONCE! But humor me here for a minute. Let me go back.
In 2011, my sister and brother-in-law adopted THREE Winnie’s Wishers all at the same time. They were without any cats at the time, having lost their two deeply loved previous cats not long before. They took THREE Wishers home and my sister has told me many times that it was the best decision they ever made. She said they had their ready-made family. The cats all knew each other and liked each other and got along. There was the stress of the adjustment period in a new home, but NO stress as far as cats having to adjust to each other. She did then, and she does now HIGHLY recommend adopting a ready-made family if you are currently without any kitties.
Then last year, you might remember that Melissa adopted Truly and Shiloh. Melissa and her family were without any cats at the time. Truly and Shiloh were a bonded sister-brother pair. But Truly and Shiloh had been rescued as two of a family of THREE. Autumn was the third member of that little family, and Melissa ended up returning to Winnie’s Wish to adopt Autumn. (AND SHE ADOPTED CIRCE, TOO, so that was officially a brand new family of four!)
At Christmas, Melissa sent me an entire photo album of her Family of Four Wishers. Here are three of those pictures.
SO . . . my deep, deep, deep (that’s THREE deep’s) desire is for Yardley, Kizzie, and Bunny to be adopted together! Nisha will do fine ANYWHERE if she can be a lap cat. And if someone out there wants a ready-made Family of FOUR, then Nisha would be THE one to add to the Family of Three I am promoting today. But if that isn’t in the stars, then what I WISH is that someone will adopt Yardley, Kizzie, and Bunny together. Kizzie and Bunny are not as people-friendly as Yardley is. Yardley talks to me and flops down in front of me as I work in the cathouse. Kizzie and Bunny will come by for a little petting, but then they usually romp off and roll around with each other, bunny-kicking and running and chasing.
Some things to know about Kizzie and Bunny.
Kizzie is a bobtail tabby. Kizzie has only one seeing eye.
Bunny is a bobtail Siamese-mix. Bunny is on cranberry because of a recurring UTI (now controlled with the cranberry).
Some additional pictures. (So cute of mom Yardley with her son Kizzie, and with her daughter Bunny.)
I wouldn’t make a WISH like this if I hadn’t seen this very thing happen before – with my own eyes! My sister and brother-in-law did it. And Melissa did it. There surely must be SOMEONE out there right now, who is ready for a ready-made family of three (or even four)! Keeping my fingers crossed. Won’t you join me?
Have a great weekend.
P.S. - I still wouldn't be opposed to someone adopting Nisha and Yardley together. (Yardley NEEDS to be adopted with a family member.) That would leave Bunny and Kizzie, but it's very possible that as long as they could go together (brother and sister bobtails) they would do fine in a patient home, even without their mom Yardley.
Beautiful kitties! Fingers crossed that someone will want to give these beauties a home together!!

I agree that adopting a family is best. They have some cats they know to help with the settling down period. I do hope some one will adopt these sweet friends with fur. Fur is warm - fur is love - love is forever. Warm wishes for a cloudy day here at Fur A Way Land. Have a great day and adopt.

I've got a family of three Wishers too! Ok ok.. I had Leo three years before I went back for his sisters... but still! It CAN be done! Let's all wish hard for it. And more than wish, lets promote this idea of adopting a family everywhere we can!!! Let's get them a home all their own!
