Tuesday’s news was awesome. Two more Winnie’s Wishers off to live The Good Life! My sidebar has two categories: kitties who are looking for forever homes and kitties who have found forever homes. As I move Autumn and Circe into the FOUND-a-home category, I’m pleased to announce that I have two kitties ready to add to the NEED-a-home category. Not too long ago I shared that finally Snowflake and Sienna were beginning to leave their feral ways behind. It took a year, but the two started coming to me on their own. They are no different now than any of the others living in the cathouse. They come to me, follow me around, want to be petted, desire my attention. The time has come to consider them “adoptable.”
Having said that, there will be special conditions associated with Sienna’s future. The Winnie’s Wish adoptables are all posted on Petfinder and AdoptAPet. And as has been proven recently, people who choose a Winnie’s Wish cat through one of these venues can end up being the PERFECT family. However, Sienna is different. If she was to be posted on one of these sights, I would get requests for her based on ONE thing – she is polydactyl. And that is NOT the reason I want her to be chosen. I want her to be chosen because someone is willing to offer a home to a kitty who had a feral beginning. I want her to be chosen because someone out there knows she is the cat he/she wants to offer a forever home to. I want someone to choose her because they believe her to be the perfect cat for their family. And I know this – if I promote Sienna on this blog, I am appealing to a group (albeit small) of people who love their cats and dogs for WHO they are and not WHAT they are.
So here we go. Sienna is a beautiful, slender, polydactyl kitty who started life in a feral cat colony. Kittens brought up by feral moms must be taken from those conditions at VERY young ages. When they get much past about 8 weeks old, they have usually taken on the feral ways. This was true of Sienna. BUT – with enough time and patience, many of them end up taming nicely. However, they are still a different type of cat. Initial adjustments in new situations and environments require longer periods of time than for non-feral cats. So Sienna will require a very patient home. The pay-off for patience will be worth it. After a year of avoiding me, Sienna now begs for my attention. In fact, when she is walking all around me and talking nonstop, if I sit right down next to her, she rolls over and insists on a belly rub. WHAT a doll she is now!
Here she is – ready and waiting for JUST the right home. Is there a Winnie’s Wish Friend out there somewhere reading this who would offer that perfect home to Sienna?
Have a great weekend.
What a gorgeous girl! We are crossing all paws that Sienna will find the perfect home.

Oh isnt she precious! What a pretty coat she has! I admit, I have a soft spot for polydactal kitties... My Leo's feet are just adorable! Can you list her on petfinder without calling her polydactal? Even if you can or can't, I just know that if all of us Winnie's Wish supporters can get together and find her a great home! We just have to think of everyone we know and decide who would make her a great family, then show her to them! The rest should fall into place! So, who do you know?? Let's get this sweetie adopted!

It was so amazing to have Sienna stay in the room with us when we visited. You could tell she wanted to visit but just wasn't quite sure. I am so happy she has started asking for luvin'. I hope this beautiful girl gets her furever home very soon.

Sienna is so pretty and will make a great pet for some lucky person. Praying for a loving home for her with her own loving family. We are in Lancaster Pa visiting family. Missing some postings but will catch up next week. Dogs miss the kennel at Chrystal's house. Left them at our house with grandson. Have a great week end. Ginny & The Fur Family
