I've been running the “brick stories” for a couple of weeks now. The brick for today came about in a less-than-ordinary way. Mom Sue of The Island Cats did something super special for Winnie's Wish. She celebrated her own birthday by having a contest – the prize being a brick in the Winnie's Wish Walkway. I noted all of this on my blog when it was occurring. If you missed that, you can read about it *here on Island Cats blog. And you can read the post that announced the winner *here. Sue would foot the bill for the brick; the winner would choose what to have engraved. So there were TWO winners – the actual contest winner and Winnie's Wish!! I think you'll recognize the winner of this brick.
You can check out Clooney's blog *here. Below is the very special story, in Clooney's words:
We were so happy to win the brick for the Winnie's Wish Walkway from Island Mom's Birthday giveaway over at The Island Cats. We are dedicating the brick to our beloved Angel Inka who was my best friend. Inka passed away from cancer at the age of 10 years, in October 2009. The first couple of weeks when I came to my forever home where Inka already lived, she played hard to get with me and kept a bit of distance (maybe I smelled bad?) when we hung out (as in picture 1). However soon enough, she could no longer resist the charms of The Cloon (and my kitty cologne) and we became inseparable. We definitely had one of those special relationships where we always slept by each other, played together many times a day and groomed each other. Inka and I were a good team and we started our blog together back in 2009 where we had lots of fun and adventures. I'm really happy that I got to spend almost three years with her and that she was part of my forever home to begin with as she was a kitty that was full of love and she made our home very Zen. My Human and I still miss her dearly and wish her well on whatever adventures and whatever journey she is now on.
Be Well My Sweet Inka
Love Clooney
Here is the picture story of how this relationship developed:
Thank you Clooney for that loving tribute.
And Sue – THANK YOU.
what a great story and tribute :)
