I'm not taking pictures of Evergreen right now. He doesn't look good, and he certainly doesn't feel good. This is a picture of Evers last Friday before all of this started. He and little Pinky had become such good friends.
There's still no way to know for sure if Evers has some type of illness he can come back from or if he has Bobcat Fever. There are no symptoms except the very high fever. He received a ketoprofen injection late yesterday which I believe brought a bit of comfort.
I'm walking around terrified that this is the deadly Bobcat Fever. The first information I received was that this disease presents one week to ten days after the tick bite. Everly's symptoms did not begin until almost three weeks after I found him infested with ticks. But now I've discovered that symptoms can present 20 days after infection. That's the exact timeframe for Evers. From first symptoms to death is about 5 days, but can be up to two weeks. So I'm just treading water until we see which way this thing turns. The ONE thing that brings me some hope is that there is usually a loss of appetite with Bobcat Fever; Evers will still eat small amounts of canned food at this time.
Thank you for the well wishes. I'll take all of the purrs and prayers I can get for my little angel boy.
Thank you for the update on Everly. We are all still praying for his recovery. It is so hard to give your heart to these little ones and time and again have it broken and still we all do it because we have to. It is our calling. Please come on and up date us if anything happens. Hopefully it will be a up turn. Hope is eternal and we must never give up... for the lost and rejected we must fight on - to save one more is a blessing. - love to all and pray for Evergreen. Ginny & The Fur Family

Sending love and prayers and purrs. I so want this little guy to survive. But one thing I do know for sure is, he is getting every chance possible with the loving care you are giving him. Thank you. xx

I am praying this little one makes it, he is so beautiful he looks alot like a Russian Blue.
I lost my big tom cat Britches Aug the 31st, he had a very aggresive cancer, he was such a wonderful cat and only 7 years old, I had raised him on a bottle.
As long as Evers is eating that's good.

As you can probably guess, that was supposed to read "up-to-date..."

We're purring and praying and hoping he starts getting better. SO glad he's eating!
It may seem insensitive of me to ask for adoptions at this time, but it really is important that we get some kitties into homes! So please, while you're purring and praying for Evergreen, share and spread the word about the kitties needing homes!

We're purring for the little guy.

Still purrrrrrrring for little Evergreen. Hang in there, ketteh.
PS: Chrystal -- not sure how much it will help, but Evergreen was wandering around your area for while, probably a long while, before you and he connected. It seems a bit of a stretch to assume Evergreen got infected just as you found him, which tends to argue against Bobcat Fever.
As we said, not sure it is much of a positive, but it might be a little ray of hope.
