So far I've properly introduced you to newbies Teddy, Kippie, Traci Mae, Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell. I want to shift gears today and RE-introduce some of the sweeties who have been here a while.
Sallie is a dilute calico. She is young, less than a year old. Sallie makes me sad for this reason. She has two completely different personalities. When she is in the cathouse, she only comes over to me occasionally for attention. She comes across as aloof. In fact, if I go TO her, she skips away, just out of reach. However, I've had her in my house a couple of times – right after I took her in and for several days before she went to a home on a trial basis. Both times that she was living in the house with me and Husband, she became a loving interactive cat. She was fine with our small dogs and after only a couple of days, she was fine with our cats, too. She would find me in whatever room I was in and plop down on the floor there. Here's the real kicker. Whenever I was at the computer, she would find her way into the computer chair with me, get comfortable, and stay.
Sallie went to a home on a trial basis. A family was looking for a companion for their cat. They let me know in advance that the established cat might not accept a newcomer. They also had a couple of dogs, one of which continuously barked at Sallie and kept her confined to one small area. So the family decided that this probably wasn't the home most suited for Sallie. She was returned and went back to the cathouse.
My belief is that if Sallie had another chance at a home, the right home, she would shed her aloofness and become that computer chair kitty that I got to know when she was with me in my home.
I hope someone out there falls in love with this sweetheart. She SO needs a home of her own.
Please pass this along. Help me find the perfect home for Sallie.
