Mindy Slimmer said in her comment on my Monday post that the hint about one of the good news announcements indicated an adoption - because adoptions are one of my favorite things. She is right!
So . . .
What is black and black and black all over?
Wait. Let me start again. Define angel.
Wait. Let me try again. What has a Halo? (Oh, we're back to angels.)
OK, let's see. What has these three things in common? A grumpy Momma kitty, a dog who is still afraid of the kitchen linoleum, and a cat who was the second most unadoptable one in the cathouse?
That would be Julie's family! And this would be the FOURTH time they have adopted from me!
Who did they adopt this time? you ask. Back to the first riddle above. What is black . . . ?
A Maverick!
When Julie and her family adopted Halo, Julie told me that she just loved Mickey Mouse and Maverick, too. She said she wished she could take all three. Of course, what was wonderful about her third adoption from me was that it was Halo who was chosen. Julie wanted to give a home to one of the least likely to be adopted. At that time, Halo was second only to Spritz. Julie and I had multiple conversations about how Halo just might not work out, etc. etc. But Halo is now a member of the family.
Julie was happy when Maverick's brother Mickey Mouse was adopted. She still had eyes for Maverick, but her life at the time was quite hectic and there were some big family decisions being made. When things settled down a bit, Julie mentioned Maverick again. But Julie is the one who does the blog Empty the Cathouse. As she was posting about all of the Winnie's Wishers currently needing homes, she said she felt guilty about taking Maverick because he was so well-adjusted. She felt like it might be selfish of her to adopt him if there were “needier” cats in the cathouse.
I told Julie that after taking Halo she deserved an “easier” adjustment. I also reminded Julie that black cats don't get adopted. Maverick was sitting in that cathouse being the greatest little personality you'd ever want, but because he's a plain black cat, his chances of being adopted were slim. She said she needed to work out a few more things, but that she would be in touch. Our only concern was how Maverick would fit in with a grumpy Momma kitty and an easily spooked Halo. There are also three dogs in the household. We would give it a try. I decided not to write about it until we were sure. Well, take a look and see what you think. I believe Maverick has made himself at home.
Yippee!!! Another fantastic home for a Winnie's Wish kitty!
See you tomorrow as the good news just keeps rollin' in.
Yay good for you Mr Maverick!!!!! :D:D:D

Maverick has found his forever loving home... Live a sweet life dear Maverick we will always remember you - As a black cat lover I can tell you they are awesome- my Cat Chi is the most loving sweet cat.. He was an older solid black cat on his last day in an Arizona kill shelter and no one would take him because he was solid black, older and injured. Some mean person had burned his back with something as big as a half dollar and it would not grow together... So I took him and the Vet cut t the sore out of his skin and pulled it together and soon there was no trace of the injury. He must be about 15 now and he is still with us and we love him - black cats rule........Keep the good news coming with more adoptions of older cats..... Ginny & The Fur Family

YAY!!!! Oh yay yay yay!!!! Aw Maverick, we're so happy for you! And Julie! You rock! You put your words into action! You totally rock!!
Do you see, people? You may not know it, but YOU could be the answer! Julie wanted to help get the word out about emptying the cathouse and then she put feet on her words and emptied a little black corner!
Do you see someone in there who speaks to you? Do you think there's no way right now? Well, keep it in mind because you never know, things could work out and you would be able to empty a part of the cathouse in the near future!
While you're doing that, perhaps your friends or family members don't know that they need a kitty either! Help them figure it out and get a kitty from the cathouse!
Good news is wonderful, we need more of it!
