Until today, Isis wasn’t even in my sidebar. She has been here since the first of June. She and her two sons, Mickey Mouse and Maverick, moved to the cathouse not long after they were rescued. Mickey and Maverick have done great. They are SO outgoing and SO ready for a home. Isis took quite a bit longer, but she did start coming around. Then, as time went on, she began to regress. Like Hershey Bear and Juice, Isis stopped coming for attention when any of us would enter the cathouse. Eventually, she started hiding when we came in. That made THREE cats in the cathouse who were becoming LESS social instead of more so. As you know, Hershey Bear moved to my house where he has made loads of progress. That left Isis and Juice in the cathouse becoming less adoptable by the day. I finally decided I had to do something. So I moved Isis and Juice and Juice’s brother Sunshine (who is VERY tame) into my office. I put two of the big cages in that room and housed Isis in one and Juice and Sunshine in the other. During the night, they are in their cages. During the day, they are out in my office. There is a cat tree in that room and lots of toys. Well, I’m pleased to announce that this has worked wonders!
Isis started coming around almost immediately. (Juice has come around nicely, too, but that’s a story for another day.) At first, Isis would run under the desk when I would enter. As I sat doing paperwork, Sunshine would walk all over the desktop and the papers and me. I would "love talk" to him and pet him and he would purr and purr and purr. This really started to intrigue Juice and Isis. Before long, Isis was creeping out from under the desk to watch this interaction between me and Sunshine. I keep kitty treats in my desk drawer (of course), and getting Isis to come for a treat was EASY. In only a matter of days, she decided that this new world suited her. She doesn’t like to be ON the desk (which is fine with me), but she loves, loves, loves my attention. So while I try to work (with Sunshine in the middle of everything), Isis rubs all over my legs. She purrs and rubs and pits and reaches way up to my lap with her front feet. If I offer to pet her, she pushes her head against my hand and arches her back way up to help me out. And the cutest thing ever - when I stop petting, she grabs my hand with her two front paws and pulls it back to her. Believe me, she has me trained. I find it SO endearing that I immediately start petting her again. This she now knows so the game goes on forever. I pet, I stop, she pulls my hand back. I pet, I stop, she pulls my hand back. OH, she is wonderful. I can’t get enough of her. She seems so very happy now. I wonder if the cathouse was just too intimidating with its two rooms and lots and lots of cats. This office room with only two other kitties suits Isis very well. Of course, she can’t live in my office forever. But wouldn’t it be wonderful if she could be adopted right away and go straight from there into home of her own?
Friends, please pass this along. FB it, tweet it, share it, email it. Winnie's Wish is looking for the PERFECT home for Isis. Is it you?
Look at those big eyes!!! What a sweetheart.
Cleo did something similar last night - jumped up in my lap and rubbed all over me. Those break throughs are the best!

Isis looks as if she is wearing eye make up. She has Betty Davis eyes... as kim carnes used to sing..my cat Hansel or Boy as we call him roams the house at night talking and wanting to be petted and if you start to pet him you might as well stay a while because he will reach up with his paw and grab you to keep your hand there. Bringing the kitties into your office was a very smart thing to do and now they are ready for new homes - please- someone out there adopt Isis or Juice. Two Furries are better than one.. They are both so pretty. Maybe we will see that Florida sunshine some time today - I hope we do soon - it is so cool out side and remember to go vote who ever your heart desires. It is Election day all over the USA -- warm wishes for a cool day -- Ginny & The Fur Family
