I was hoping to have information to share today about the transport for this weekend. Calico Mom Cat and her itty bitties are going to Jeanne (Random Felines). Keep your fingers crossed that Jeanne and I get some help with the middle section of the transport; otherwise, that’s going to be a L-O-N-G day for both of us!
I’m going to leave you with the Name Game today and for the weekend (new cute pictures below). In honor of Andrea, who works tirelessly for my rescue operation, and whose idea this was, I hope you will play. Send your feline and/or canine names to me via email, or in a comment on this post or yesterday’s post, or even in a note with the donation to play. These babies need names.
From yesterday’s post: Now Andrea has had another idea. It’s a quick little thing and makes for a bit of fun. It’s a naming contest to raise funds. Andrea (and some of the rest of you) have been encouraging me to keep the chip-in going. I was having none of it because you wonderful people have taken that chip-in to goal and then doubled it. But Andrea suggested that people might like to “chip in” a tiny bit for the rights to name the babies. We happen to have four kitty babies and three puppy babies right now. And let’s not forget Mom Calico Cat - she’s never received an official name either. So here’s what we’ll do - mostly for fun (and because even a dollar is a great thing here). A dollar a name. You might only want to put in a name for Mom which would cost you only $1.00. If you want to have a say in kitten names, it will cost you $4.00 because you have to give FOUR names in that category. (You might know from Jeanne’s blog that she names litters in themes, and these babies are going to Jeanne.) Or you might want to offer FIVE names - Mom and four Kittens which would cost you $5.00. You might want to suggest names for the three puppies - $3.00 to play that game. If you go all out and send names for everybody (Mom Cat, four kittens and three puppies), it will cost you $8.00. You can include your name choices in the comment section at the time of your donation, or in a comment directly on this post, or in an email to me - [email protected] I will close out the Chip-In on October 12 and that weekend, there will be three jars set up for all of the names - one jar for Mom Cat names, one jar for the group of four kitten names, and one jar for the group of three puppies. One slip will be drawn from each jar and Mom Cat will have her name, the four kittens will have their names, and the three puppies will have their names. If you want to play, use the chip-in that is labeled “Shiloh’s Surgery.”
$1.00 to name Mom Cat.
$4.00 to name four kittens
$3.00 to name three puppies
Here they are:
Have a great weekend!
Oh boy do I hope you get someone between to help with the transport! Does anyone know a college age person in the middle there who might want to take a road trip? Or someone else who likes to take drives? Please put on your thinking caps and help make this transport a success!
Don't forget that homes are desperately needed for the cathouse cats. Those kittens are growing up, they need homes! Those older kitties have been there long enough, they need homes! The new ones are getting bigger, they need homes! Please, please help find a forever home for at least one of them!
Aside from the contest, Chrystal can always use donations. Book sales help the kitties. Brick sales help the kitties. Adoptions help the kitties and the ones who have yet to be saved by opening up a new space! And yes, you can still get toys from the FUNdraiser, I'm leaving it up, just not advertizing it as hard any more. But you can still get your toys if you want.
Please help in any way you can!

I have my names picked out. I may just mail this to Chrystal because my computer is not fixed yet. I am working on my brick dog story. Parts come in monday so hope I am back on line. Jims computer is totally right handed and rails against a lefty. The kittens are so sweet and so are the pups - Gwennie and mom cat are such good mothers. Hope the transport get done on time. I think the weather is going to turn colder here in the OHIO Valley next week - I will watch to see if the weather person is wearing an over coat - that is a sure sign. Now every thing is Dopler and such -we used to just run out to the front porch to see what to wear in the mornings. Donate - pick names and buy books and bricks.. all for the best of causes - to help the furries... Ginny & Th Fur Family

Oh, those little ones are so adorable! Yes, those feel good endorphins are definitely pumping now. :)
We'll have to try and come up with some names.
Have a great weekend!

Mailed in my names and brick story for my dog Winter. I hope the transport went off as planned. PARTING is such sorrow. That is true, but if it is going somewhere that a loving home may be available, then it is a wonderful thing. There are so many strays out there in the dark alone and hungry. last night a beautiful stray, a calico, and a lean red yellow tom came by the feeding dishes on the porch and got a good supper and water. Sometimes that is all we can do is just what we can do on our porches. Some strays will never be tame or caught and petted and there lies the shame of it all. Some are born of feral scared mothers who will turn out litter after litter of scared kittens, who may never get homes because they are just too scared to be touched. I have caught and spayed 4 females and neutered one male in the last year or two. Four are now tame, but one is still very wild.. Prayers for people to spay and neuter pets..... have a great day one-- that God made just for us.... Ginny & The Fur Family
