Yes, that’s right. Luna has been chosen. And you’re NEVER going to believe where she’s going. . . .
TO THE SLIMMER HOUSE!!!
Mindy Slimmer and her wonderful family have decided to adopt Luna. Mindy wrote to me with her thoughts, and we started a dialogue. You might remember that Luna had to move into a cage weeks ago because we discovered that she has to be on a special food. I hate it when a cat lives in a cage. I did a special post and the CB ran a special spot trying to find Luna a home. Once a week for three weeks in a row, I tried Luna on a little bit of regular food. Each and every time, I would see the next morning that Luna had vomited overnight. I could not move her back into the cathouse where she could access regular food at all times. But I felt horrible for her, now living in a cage full-time.
When Mindy wrote to me, she explained that her current two kitties are already on the Science Diet Sensitive Stomach food. Mindy discussed with her family the idea of possibly bringing Luna into their home. There would be no worries about Luna having to be fed separately. She would get the diet she needed and have a home of her very own. I was ecstatic. EVERY adoption brings me more joy than I can even express in words. But to have a cat in a cage get chosen for a real home is just the VERY BEST. Mindy and Family - THANK YOU. You have given the ultimate gift.
I know something about the readers of this blog. You guys are always pulling for the animals that come in here. You always wish the best for them. You are always happy when dogs and cats are rescued from horrible conditions and start a life with love. You celebrate with me when a little furry somebody starts to get well or to respond to their first experience with love. I know you worry with me for those who struggle with illness or injury. And I know you all rejoice when somebody gets a real home. So I feel like this was the perfect post for Christmas. It is a marvelous Christmas gift for me. And I know it will give anybody reading this a delightful lift. What could be better than a real home at Christmastime!
Merry, merry Christmas - to me and to Luna. AND TO YOU.
I’m not sure how much I will be able to post next week. Luna's Transport Day is Wednesday. And business will be hectic as people return from their holiday trips and start picking up at my kennel. But I will DEFINITELY be posting at SOME point next week because there are already LOTS of new things to share with you. One is going to make you VERY angry, but also VERY glad that China is now in loving arms. There’s another story that should be taking place immediately after Christmas. If it happens, it will be a VERY GOOD THING (and that’s an understatement). So I will get a post or two up next week if I can at all. Then we’ll all head into the New Year. Have a WONDERFUL, awe-filled weekend.
You can pop over to Mindy’s blog The Slimmer Pugs (always in my sidebar). I’m sure she has something to say about Luna today.
How wonderful that sweet Luna has found her forever home. Such happy news.
Thank you so much for all you do to help animals in need ~ I just want to say how very much I appreciate all you and your family do. Blessings to you all.
Happy Christmas dear friends ~ and a joyful and healthy new year to you all. xx

Good news for Luna; not just a home but one in which she won't have to be segregated or fed separately.
You're quite right about all your readers rejoicing when a cat or dog is rescued and adopted. Just this week, one of the cats who was rescued by the group I work with was adopted: she's seventeen, toothless and has only one eye! Though Briar was in an excellent foster-home, no one thought she'd be adopted, but her foster-guardians love her too much not to make it permanent. And just in case you were wondering, except for the conditions mentioned above, Briar is healthy and active. In truth, until certain facts were discovered, it was thought, even by vets, that she was about five or six!
There is always a chance for an animal's happiness, just as there is for a human's. Merry Christmas to all in your household.

Audrey says, "We love this Christmas present!! It's almost as good as me being here (well, if my stinky brother Knives found another home...). We're so excited we're all going to have a nap in Luna's honor!! Yaaaaaay!! Mom hasn't done our blog yet so we'll force... um... ask her to put a pointer to here there. 'cuse me I have to go chase my stinky brother Knives again!!"
