I said I would share my Wishes for August. Jan (Milo & Alfie’s mom) guessed in a comment that one of the things we want to do to celebrate Winnie is to FINALLY get our memorial BRICKS fundraiser underway. I am collecting my information and getting my final questions answered. I will do a post all about BRICKS very soon (hopefully tomorrow). My original plan was to launch this crusade quite some time ago. But we had some losses, and kitten season was an all-out deluge this year. As luck would have it, the BRICKS project is now being launched at the perfect time. What a great way to celebrate Winnie. In fact, the sample brick I plan to show you is a memorial to our little Winnie. I’m excited, and I know from your previous comments and emails that you share that excitement. What better way to honor sweet Winnie and SO many of your beloved pets than to build a brick walk to our double cathouse (one room of which is named “Winnie’s Room”).
My second BIG wish for this month is HOMES. I bet that comes as no surprise to anyone. I assure you there is NO BETTER tribute to Winnie than to place more kitties into forever homes. Here is my wish/prayer/intention. When we took on the Fantastic Fifteen, I started believing that we could get TEN cats and kittens into perfect homes. I was about to do a big push for adoptions when things started going downhill here. However, even in the midst of the loss and chaos, Max & Dearest and Jasper & Soapy were “chosen”. And not only “chosen”, but delivered to their new families. So here’s what I want to do. . . . My original prayer had been to get TEN kitties placed. Max, Dearest, Jasper, and Soapy are four. In honor of Winnie, and the subsequent adoption campaign in her name (Winnie’s Wish), I WOULD LIKE TO GET SIX MORE KITTIES INTO THEIR PERFECT FOREVER HOMES. Blogosphere (Cat and Dog) - start your engines. If you’ve ever considered adding another kitty to your family, won’t you PLEASE consider doing it now. And if not, would you put some feelers out for us. If you have friends or family (WHO WOULD GIVE THE KIND OF LOVE THAT YOU WOULD!), please help us arrange an adoption. If we could get six more kitties “chosen” this month, that would be the ten I had originally hoped for, and it would bring our grand total of Winnie’s Wish adoptions to TWENTY!! Now THAT would be some kind of celebration.
Over the next many posts, I will begin to highlight the various kitties here that are waiting for homes. There are the gray girls, Daphne, Halo, Percy, Luna & Golden, the feral-no-longer four, and Trex & Frosty. This is a group sure to please. Won’t you consider taking one (or two or three) of these babies into your home? Help us find the perfect forever homes. You’ve never let me down. I know we can do this.
Now let me take a moment to acknowledge the people who have already offered the gift of a forever home to Winnie’s Wish kitties. Cat (Cat’s Cats) was our first adoption. She has Ash/Jimmy. When she decided to adopt him, her desire for a kitty was not her only motivation. She hoped to jumpstart Winnie’s Wish by getting the ball rolling. If we could get a kitty to Canada, then surely there was no stopping us. And we did it, with Amy’s (House of Cats) help. Amy was part of that first transport. It wasn’t long before Amy adopted one of Winnie’s Wish kitties herself - Tuxie/Trixie became one of her family members. Rita (Casbah Kitten) adopted TWO at the same time - P.C./Gabriel and Moonie/Max. Sparkles/Audrey went to Kat (Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde). Andrea (Celestial Kitties) fell in love with and adopted Leo. My sister and brother-in-law adopted THREE - Alice/Hazel, Handsome/Boris, and Possum/Olaf. Little Gabriel was chosen by Karen to be one of The Monkeys. And most recently, Max & Dearest went to Goldie with the help of my friend Mere Lyn, and Jasper & Soapy went to Lana with the help of my friend Jeanne (Random Felines).
Help make another Winnie’s Wish come true. Pick a kitty. You won’t be sorry.
Brick plans and kitty highlights to come. Hope you stay with us for the ongoing celebration. Happy August to you!
Wishing love and luck to every kitty needing a home in Winnie's room. PURRS from Milo and Alfie for a good heart-warming result. xx

We're definitely not sorry about adopting Gabriel! He is the sweetest little boy and worth all of the work getting him here. I hope that some more people will choose some of your cats to make their own!
Can't wait to hear about the bricks!

I second the motion to get the cats adopted. And truly you won't be sorry. Max and Dearest have brought incredible joy into our house. They have adapted beautifully, and they came to me already very climated to people and other cats.
They purr constantly and have perfect litter box manners!
It has been definitely worth it!

I feel the excitement building already. The great CB'ers have never failed to take up a challenge and being the over-achievers that we all are, I'm sure that we can get new homes for 6 little munchkins!

If you can get kitties to Canada and California, anything is possible!! Jasper and Soapy are two of the sweetest, most loving fuzzies I've ever had the pleasure of being near. They have completed our family perfectly, and it was worth every second of planning and effort that it took to get them here!

We can't wait until six more forever homes are found!
Love and purrs

Hi Chrystal, thanks for the shout out. I know I'm a total broken record when it comes to Jimmy (Ash) but he is just the happiest and most affectionate cat. I'm just certain that anyone who adopts a Winnie's Wish kitty will not be sorry, kitties raised with your family's love and kindness are very special indeed!!!
Can't wait to hear about the bricks :-)

Yay! Bricks! Can't wait to hear about them!!
I totally agree with all the other adopters! Winnie's Wish kitties are the best, most loving, most family ready kitties in the world!
My Leo was more than worth the distance. No distance should be an obstical to getting one of this wonderful kitties! Leo is especially interested in seeing his other sisters find their forever homes, so please please look over the kitties and choose one! Getting them isn't the issue, choosing from these amazing kitties is the hardest part!
Winnie's Wish is worth it! Spread the word!
