A supporter of Winnie’s Wish lost her heart kitty not long ago. Mell has supported Winnie’s Wish for a long time. I’ve always been so grateful to have her on board. Last week, I received an email from her about some gifts coming my way for Winnie’s Wish. Mell sends gifts for no reason at all, but this time was different. This gift would be in memory of her sweet TC. Here is what Mell said about this special cat:
I lost my sweet baby boy, TC, just before New Year’s; he was just shy of his 18th birthday and his kidneys had been failing for quite a while. Still, as you well know, it’s never easy to let them go. It’s taken me this long to be able to do this, but I knew I wanted to immediately after he passed. I’m still having to wipe away the tears as I type this, but I’m beginning to smile when I think of him now, so I decided it was time.
TC was my baby, my heart kitty, my first-born, the very best Valentine’s gift I ever received, the most perfect kitty in the entire world and the reason I got into rescue. As you can see from his ear-tip, he started life as a feral and came to me when he was about a year old. I’m pretty sure that neither one of us ever regretted him giving up his wild ways to come inside and rule our household.
About the contents of your gift: More than anything, TC loved, loved, loved crunchy food. Unfortunately, he was seriously prone to bladder crystals, so all he ever got was about a tablespoon of dry food as a bedtime snack. So I think it’s only appropriate that he bequeath his favorite thing to other wildlings…I think he’d like that. Actually, he’d probably be incensed that I gave away perfectly good crunchies, but he would understand. And…if you’re gonna feed one end, you have to prepare for the other end…hence the litter.
I received the giant gift in memory of TC and I wrote to thank Mell for choosing Winnie’s Wish. She responded with: You and the wishers have earned a special place in my heart. I love what you do and how you do it - we think a lot alike when it comes to animals and it makes me happy to be able to help.
So in memory of TC . . .
Mell – THANK YOU.
Another gift arrived here “in memory of.” Karen L sent a beautiful card with a gift inside . . . in memory of my Rocky dog.
Karen – THANK YOU.
Tomorrow - an update on the Angel with breathing problems and the little foster with the same issue. Have a good Monday.
