One of the definitions of partner is - a person with whom one shares an intimate relationship; one member of a couple. Well, remove “person” and replace with “cat” and you have the permanent partners who live at Winnie’s Wish. These two pairs are Wishers I will ONLY adopt out together. No way could one member of either of these couples make it without the other.
Kizzie and Bunny are my buddies in the cathouse. However, I have learned NOT to say that certain kitties might adjust more easily based on their behavior HERE. What I can tell you is that Kizzie likes to reach up and grab my knee and hang on. He’ll even do this while I’m walking. He also likes for me to hold him and let him sit in my lap. Kizzie is a bobtail tabby with only one seeing eye. Bunny will let me pick her up and she loves to be petted. She hangs out with me as consistently as Kizzie does. She is a blue-eyed, flamepoint, bobtail kitty. But here is what I must say about these two – I took them in when they were older kittens. They have only known their feral lives and Winnie’s Wish. They have now been here 2 ½ years. They hide immediately when anyone but me goes into the cathouse. These two will certainly take MONTHS to adjust in a new world. They will require the most patient and loving people that exist. If someone chose this pair, I know I would worry and worry about how terrified they would initially be. But if the RIGHT person came along, I believe that eventually they would adjust to a new home and would give their new person the attention that they give me here. And of course, if these two sweethearts were to be Chosen, it would open two spots for some homeless kitties out there who will certainly eventually need me. So Friends – please Wish with me that Kizzie and Bunny will end up in the most perfect home for them.
Slate and Finnick have been a bonded pair for a very long time. These two are not siblings like Kizzie and Bunny, but I can’t imagine any closer partners. They rub on each other, play together, eat together, and occasionally sleep together. Slate was adopted at one point and returned. He and Finnick have been inseparable ever since. I must say here that it is possible that these two won’t be able to adjust in a home. Well, I mean probably just about any cat can eventually adjust. But I truly do not know for sure if I should even be posting this pair as adoptable. If the absolute perfect person appeared, I’d be willing to try. But with the exception of that “perfect” home, it’s possible that Slate and Finnick should be retired to the title “Sanctuary Cats” and leave it at that. Wish with me, Friends, that exactly what should happen will happen.
See you tomorrow.
