Great Idea- how will people know when they will be? Will a sign be put up at the front of the shelter or in the paper? let us know where to bring our stuff. I don't have a lot but I have some good useable stuff. It takes a lot of money to care for animals - people who don't spay and neuter should be made aware of just how much it takes to care for all the litter after litter of puppies and kitties. We do love them all and they are worth all our time and effort.

Random Felines

good luck....

Pam

Love this idea!!! I can probably come up with some stuff to donate on your behalf :-)

jansfunnyfarm

That's wonderful. And it will keep you out of trouble since you have nothing to do. (Now you KNOW we're kidding!!!) It's wonderful your family can work together to help animals.

Lori

Boy...the grass doesn't have much of a chance to grow under your feet, does it? You make me look & feel downright lazy, girl! Ha! What a fantastic idea! Here's hoping it turns out to be a grand success!

Though many of us aren't close enough to donate for a yard sale, it sounds like Wish List donations would also be welcome & come in handy right about now. So...keep your eyes open for the delivery man/woman today! Wink! Wink! Have a great weekend!

Wonderful idea, wish I was close. Our local shelter does this when they can & I always make sure to attend. Gook luck I hope you sell lots of stuff for everybody involved
Have a great weekend !

This is actually a truly wonderful idea. Yard sales & thrift stores are HUGE in our area (Montgomery/Wetumpka/Prattville, AL). My local shelter has a thrift store they open only on the weekends. It is manned entirely by volunteers, and because all proceeds benefit the shelter, and the shelter is a 501c3, donations to the thrift store are tax deductible.
Over the years, the thrift store has grown from one small building to several structures, and was still bursting at the seams. They are now building a LARGE permanent structure just to house the thrift store, and there is still enough "overflow" to support sending items to a local thrift outlet in town.

Oh, I wish I lived closer and could donate items! I think it's a wonderful idea, and it's the perfect thing for people who love animals and have things that they can no longer use. How lucky that you have the space to store the items! Good work, as always, Chrystal, and best of luck with the sales!

Andrea and the Celestial Kitties

What an awesome idea! I'm praying it works out great for all of you!! It's kind of like the Winnie's Wish auction on a local scale! lol!
Next to money to run Winnie's Wish, Adoptions are the most needed thing! Lets all share a kitty today!
Donation, wish list items, and the auction help too!

Perhaps putting ads in your local Kijiji or other community sites would help. There must be any number of people wanting to get rid of things on any given day. You would probably receive a lot of junk but much would be what others are looking for. Could you have a place to which people could bring things at any time?
