Note: I'm writing this on Sunday afternoon. Going to go ahead and post because it's REALLY looking like we are going to lose power at some point before this is over.
March is the month that holds Spring. Also it is the month when we “spring forward” and magically end up with more daylight in the evenings. March is the month when the first blooms appear, promising that Life is restored after the LONG hibernation of Winter.
And this year, March is the month of an ice storm . . .
Yes, we are covered in ice here. No power outages yet, but the weather person on our local news station has been warning us that our area is in the belt most likely to lose power. The ice has coated everything; high wires and tree branches are heavy with the burden. They say there will be no breaks – steady sleet and freezing rain and that the “icing” (get it?) on the cake is three inches of snow overnight. So if I do not show up here tomorrow, it will be because I am moving about in my world without electricity. We shall see.
March is the month when Honey will get to move into her retirement home. You remember Honey (the foster dog with the grapefruit-sized tumor on her tail). She had her surgery. The tumor has been removed, two rotten teeth have been pulled (and a dental done), and she is resting comfortably on a THICK bed in a run in my kennel.
This month might be the month for another surgery. If I still have electricity, I'll share about my sweet Janie dog tomorrow.
March is also the month of my blogoversary, my wedding anniversary, my husband's birthday. Busy month. AND, it's the beginning of Kitten Season. I'm still horrified that I won't be able to take in a single cat or kitten this Season. Still no adoptions. Still four over my max. Please keep Wishing with me for wonderful homes to come forward.
As for March looking or feeling like the month that holds Spring . . . well, here's what some of MY crew think about that.
See you tomorrow . . . I hope.
