Winnie's Wish didn't win. I saw that there were LOTS of really big shelters in the running. Any of those places would be deserving, and the wonderful thing is that whoever won will have some happy kitties.
I didn't have to win this. I mentioned in a post that I went to a big Bargain Barn and found this for an amazing price. It's actually made to hang on a door, but there was no place to do that in my two-room cathouse. So Husband took the hanging brackets off and we put it right against the wall. IT WAS A HIT! The cathouse kitties LOVE it!! If you visited yesterday you saw a picture of Shiloh, Autumn, and Truly arranged perfectly on this great unit.
Now take a look at this!
This is the heater I needed for the new Kitten Room - ANOTHER gift from my Amazon Winnie's Wish Wish List!!! I have to admit I check my Wish List occasionally (OK, more than occasionally). I have JUST discovered that when I have only one of something on the List, it disappears when someone picks it to send. I received the heater yesterday, and after a quick dance of excitement I ran and looked at the list. Yep, the heater had disappeared. The new Kitten Room will have to be heated so I would have needed to purchase this before the weather turned cooler. And now I don't have to! I'm seriously falling in love with this Wish List. EVERY single thing I get through the Wish List is something I don't have to BUY which means I can stretch the dollars I have EVEN FARTHER!!! I operate my rescue and shelter from the (small) income I make from my kennel business, and from donations, and recently from Andrea's toy fundraisers (which have literally helped me keep going over the last year!). Well. When things from the Wish List magically show up at my door, that immediately translates into money I can stretch in another direction. Food, litter, and cleaning supplies are constant needs. When some of those get donated, then I have that much more money to put towards MORE food, litter, and cleaning supplies AND vet bills, spays & neuters, vaccinations, transport costs, flea treatments, etc. etc. etc. Now back to the heater I received yesterday. As I've mentioned, there are no names of senders with the gifts. So I have no idea who fulfilled this Wish. I hope you will reveal yourself. Until then,
Friend of Winnie's Wish – THANK YOU!
(And I still haven't heard from the anonymous person who sent the kitty litter from the Wish List . . .)
So. I might be too small of a rescue/shelter to win big contests. But I have the most wonderful supporters anywhere!!!
Tomorrow is my sweet Janie's surgery to remove the tumor from her leg. I'll be giving Jane my extra time and attention over the weekend. See you Monday.
