I believe it’s a Winnie’s Wish record. Seven cats adopted into their very own homes in the span of four weeks. I put out emails to the adoptive parents to see if I could get some pictures of these lucky cats in their new homes. I received pictures and updates galore! That’s what I want to share with you today. But first . . .
You all know Kevin (*Animal Shelter Volunteer Life). Kevin has taken it upon himself to try to get the word out about my book. He knows that if I could ever increase sales, those funds could help support the rescue work here. You might remember that he recently reviewed my book over at *Cat Chat with Caren and Cody. It was a wonderful review, and I got to meet Caren (another animal lover) in the process. How good it was of Caren to allow Kevin to use her blog to do the review. Kevin has done it again. My book was recently reviewed by McGuffy Ann on her blog. It was wonderful to meet her (in her words - a “kindred spirit” for sure), and she was able to use the review to encourage folks to become inspired to help animals. I was beaming. I hope you’ll take the time to pop over and read *McGuffy Ann’s review. I’d love for you to visit her *blog, and if you didn’t already know her, take advantage of meeting yet another animal lover.
Let me mention, too, that I have a new option in my sidebar. McGuffy Ann told Kevin that she was having trouble following my blog. She asked Kevin if I had a “follow-by-email” option. Guess who else had asked that very question? Caren (of Cat Chat). I knew it was time to take my techno-ignorant self into the world of computer codes, feedburners, and extra stress. With LOADS of help from the Typepad Help Team, McGuffy Ann and Caren are now following my blog via email. Yay!
Now about these SEVEN Winnie’s Wishers. The first to be “chosen” was Mitts. In the email with the pictures, J said this - Mitts is still doing awesome!! And we are VERY MUCH still in love with her! She has really settled in here and seems to love it more and more! I was so happy to read that alot of her house mate kitties got adopted into great homes! That makes me very happy!! One of the pictures is my favorite pic of her . . . she is just perfect!
The next adoption was by R. She and her husband took THREE Winnie’s Wishers - Circe, Glitter, and Cashmere. Here’s what R said in her email - Just wanted to give you an up date. All the girls have adjusted totally and lounge on the couch with us now. Cashmere is very talkative and loving. Glitter is more aloof and hangs out on the back of the couch. And Circe is a love bug. She takes my seat when i get up and will mold herself to me when i return. She likes sleeping in the bed too. The other girls prefer to sleep on the old blanket i put in the living room floor for them. So they are doing very well.
Sunshine and Juice were next to go. You might remember that their new adoptive mom M was a real trooper and took the boys even though Juice still needs work in terms of leaving all traces of feralness behind. Here’s what M had to say - These boys are definitely MY boys. Juice wants to be petted but not held at this point. Sunshine likes his belly rubbed and will roll over onto his back for it. Their faces tugged at my heart when I saw them on Petfinder. I looked at a lot of pictures in various locations, but they were the ones I kept going back to. It was meant to be.
(No pictures of Sunshine and Juice unfortunately. )
Mickey Mouse was the last of the seven to be chosen during this brief period of time. A said this in one email - He is doing really well. He is doing amazing with the dogs; even chasing them around and sleeping in bed with them. Mickey is doing great. I love Mickey! And in the email with the pictures - He has been chasing the dogs. He is fitting in so well.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to get Mickey!

Wow! You couldn't have a better story to tell. What amazes me is how Circe came around. As I recall, she was a very shy one. What a great start to the week

Excellent stories. It's always nice to read how well newly adopted cats are doing. I liked the picture of Mickey with the dog. They look like two friends investigating something.

YAY! IOW the same great stories that come with EVERY Winnie's Wish adoption! BTW Audrey was seen grooming Merlin's (nee Thomas) head this morning!! She's also enjoying playing with Rose! As has been the case since she joined us, she doesn't like her Arch-Nemesis, Knives.

that is the BEST news that 7 babies were adopted!!!
Sooo happy that McGuffy Ann featured you too and too funny that we both said the same thing about "follow by email" So glad you listened to us!!
It was my pleasure to have Kevin review your book on Cat Chat...wish I had had the time at that time to do it but I am glad that he could!

Oh Hurray!!! I love updates! It's the next best thing to the new families' starting their own blog (hint hint? LOL) Circe amazes me! Considered unadoptable for so long then deciding she wanted a family, then GETTING a family and now the most settled in! Wow! What a turn around for her!
Just think, you could have your very own story like these! All you have to do is look at the adoptable kitties and see who'd fit into YOUR family! Or help someone you know realize that one of them is destined to be theirs!
Seven adoptions is a wonderful thing, but look how many more we have to go! Please help in any way you can to get these wonderful kitties into a home of their own! Post, blog, share, tweet, talk!
Donations always help!
