Today I had planned to elaborate upon the story of Isis the Office Kitty. But I need to do something else instead. My intention to talk about Isis today was going to be the lead-in for a series of posts about the current calicos here. I still plan to do that. Assuming nothing crazy happens over the weekend (which is an assumption I really should not make), I will do my “calico posts” starting next Tuesday. Isis will still get her day (as will the other colorful calicos here).
Today I want to talk about Andrea at Celestial Kitties. There are a couple of reasons for this as you will see. Andrea had her FUN FUN FUNdraiser for Winnie’s Wish during which she sewed cat toys, put them together into sets, and sent the profits to the kitties here. It was a raging success! Then during December, Andrea had a Christmas toy/ornament fundraiser for Winnie’s Wish. These particular Christmas balls were embroidered with the names of the recipient’s pets. What a wonderful idea. The ornaments were perfect - so professionally sewn and embroidered. (I have mentioned before what a talented seamstress Andrea is!) Well, I received the donation from Andrea a couple of days ago. Are you ready? (Drumroll . . . ) After costs, the donation was over $361, and Andrea and her husband rounded that UP to $400! What I’m going to do at this point in this paragraph is copy & paste what Andrea wrote in her own post BECAUSE I FEEL THE SAME WAY: Thank you, everyone! Everyone who donated, who shared, who blogged, who helped, who wished us well! You rock! I think all of you guys who bought Christmas balls DO rock! AND I THINK ANDREA ROCKS TOO!
And here’s what is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful - I will be on my way to the veterinary clinic early tomorrow morning with five kitties. Yep, it’s a spay/neuter day - made very easy financially by the fundraiser. THANK YOU.
Now on to a somewhat separate issue but still concerning Andrea’s toys. When she did her toy fundraiser, there were a couple of folks who PAID for a toy set, but told Andrea to send the set TO ME to send on with the next “chosen ones” into their new homes. I had four such sets. A toy set went with Mitts. One went with Circe, Glitter, and Cashmere. And one went with Sunshine and Juice. So to you folks who bought sets and then donated them to go with future Winnie’s Wish adoptees - that is exactly what happened. THANK YOU. Every set that had been donated went with felines to their new forever homes. Yep. Every set. Wait. What?
See you Monday!

Oh my!! I know that the Teenage Mutant Kitty Horde adore their set! But their Feeders also got one for each of them for their annual Christmas ornament! (no catnip in those!!) We have two of the first fundraiser toy sets (someone donated one to us! squee!) And those toys are thoroughly loved so the Christmas set came in handy.
You have another story up your sleeve don't you. Something is up! I'm so glad that the fundraiser will make the large number of spay/neuter easier! We've only got two coming up. Here's hoping all the operations go well!!

Now THAT is a cliffhanger! I can hardly wait to read Monday's post.
Andrea is the best. We took a couple of the toys we bought in her FUNdraiser to PAWS, and the cats loved them. The one with the feather tail was especially popular! Thank you to Andrea and everyone who participated.
All good thoughts for the kitties getting spayed.
Big hugs to you!

My cats love Andreas toys- this is the second set I have bought and I have given a toy to several friends who have furries. They loved them - My cats keep getting up on the mantle and getting down the Christmas balls. I keep getting them away all covered with kitty slobbers - several times I have used a baby wipe to restore them to their organial beauty. I think I had better put them away until next Christmas. Andrea has such a big sewing talant.
Thank you Andrea for donating for the spaying day. hope all goes well tomorrow - Chrystal sure knows how to leave a cliff hanger- Can't wait until Monday--best wishes for a rainy day - Ginny & The Fur Family

Crossing my paws (I mean hands) that the good news involves another kitty finding their forever home. You know my hope is that Frosting, the darling, gets her forever home next. I can't wait to find out the mystery of the fourth set even if it is not Frosting's turn.
Much Love,
Mindy :)

I'm SO happy that every cat going to a forever home got a set of toys!

My kitties love, love, LOVE the Christmas balls! I ordered them with catnip because I knew they wouldn't survive on the tree as ornaments. Not a day goes by that I see one or both of my kitties play with them! I hope Andrea does this again because her toys are a HIT around here! :)

Oh Chrystal! You do love a clifhanger! You're going to make us wait til Monday to know who was adopted and got the fourth set! Can I call you a brat? MOL
Regardless of who got a home, there are so many others who still need theirs! Won't you help find more forever homes? Won't you make kitties happy? Won't you spread the word in every way you can? Just look at them! They're too cute to wait any longer!
Speaking of the FUN FUN FUNdraiser, you know that one never closed, if you still want toys, (or even to send more for kitties who find forever homes) you still can! There's a link on my side bar to the fundraiser, if you're interested. Of course the money still goes to Winnie's Wish.
Donations always help! Book sales always help! Adoptions for sure help!!
