I have a funny story to tell. A neat thing happened as a result of the auction held for Jeanne at Random Felines. I saw that there was an item donated by The Island Cats that included a cat cube. Knowing the cathouse can always use a cube, I bid on the item. Of course, my intention was to support Jeanne and all the great work she does - lots of it for me. I bid on it, and that was that. However, Virginia at The Poupounette came along and outbid me. Now here’s what happened next. Virginia ended up winning the item. However, she had intended it to go to my cathouse all along. She told me (after the fact) that she was quite nervous when she saw me bid on it but she didn’t want to tell me and ruin the surprise. When the package arrived, I emailed a thank you to Virginia and we had our chuckle. What I had noticed, however, was that there were lots more toys in that package than I remembered being in the auction. I emailed a thank you to Sue at Island Cats and she had a story of her own. When she saw that I lost the item to Virginia, she decided to send a box of toys my way for the cathouse anyway. Then she got word from Marg that her auction item was to go to me. She thought it was a mistake, but Marg explained that Virginia wanted the item to go to Winnie’s Wish. However, in the meantime, Sue had already gotten a box of toys together for me. So she put them all together and I received that box of love just the other day. I belong to the most wonderful group of animal lovers on the planet!
I want to mention something that came up in some of the comments on the recent adoption posts. You guys really do “get it”. When the four cats were adopted - Mitts, Circe, Glitter, and Cashmere - EIGHT cats were saved. As I’ve said so many times, the four who received forever homes were saved AND that opened spots for FOUR more homeless cats. I was maxed out in my cathouse. Now if a little somebody comes along who needs me, I can scoop that little soul right up. Wonderful feeling . . .
We have six cats of our own. Winnie’s Wish is home to fourteen cats at this moment. So here are twenty cats wishing each of you the best holiday season ever.

Merry Christmas to all the Parker kitties and the Winnie's Wishers. My hope for the cats is they all get home before or during the new year!!
Much Love,
Mindy
PS: Chrystal, How did you get your Christmas cactus to bloom so beautifully? I have a Christmas Cactus and it doesn't bloom more than 10% of the blooms you have on your plant. What is your secret?

Merry Christmas to all in the Parker home and Winnies wish cats. Cheers for all the people who donated toys - and to Virginia for the cube - that is a favorite of kitties. Andrea is such a good true friend of the furries and so is Mindy and Jeanne and too many to name but they are such supporters of The Adoptions and fund raisers. The rain is here and I have spent the morning battening down the hatches so to speak. Cats mostly do not like rain. CAts love warm sunny days. The cat deck on the side of the CAt house at the Parkers is a perfect thing for cats. I love the pictures of the Christmas Cactus. So many beautiful blooms. Warm wishes for a windy day - Ginny& The Fur Family
