This is the first day of my October Adoption Push. I will highlight ALL of the Winnie’s Wish cats and kittens this month (actually through the first week of November - there's a reason) in the hopes of finding forever homes. On Adoption Push days, there will be pictures and descriptions of two or more kitties at a time. Please share these posts and keep your fingers crossed. I really, really, really need to reduce the numbers in the cathouse so I won’t continue to be in the predicament I am in now. I have not one spot for another cat or kitten at this time. It was lucky that Jeanne was able to take the group of five when she did. That will not usually be the case - that was a miracle. I need to have a little wiggle room for homeless cats and kittens out there about to cross my path. Remember that when one cat gets adopted, it saves TWO - the one who gets adopted, and the one it opens a spot for.
Today’s featured kitties are Jo-Jo and Hershey Bear. These two kittens are being highlighted first because they are living in my house. It would be wonderful if they could be chosen right away and never actually live in the cathouse. The reason they are here is two-fold. Jo-Jo came in as the youngest of the nine kittens we have taken in these last few months. She was living in our house so she could get a little bigger before we introduced her to the much larger kittens in the cathouse. Then a few weeks ago, I noticed that a kitten in the cathouse was regressing in terms of socialization. I was losing progress with Hershey Bear. I decided to bring him back to the house. He and Jo-Jo could play, and I could force some human love on the little guy and see if I could bring him back around. Not long after Hershey Bear came to the house, my DiMarno caught a cold. I figured I was about to see it run through every cat in the house, but it did not. It was only picked up by the two youngsters - Jo-Jo and Hershey Bear. Once they had colds, I couldn’t put them in the cathouse. So they stayed even longer than I had originally planned. Now that everybody is healthy again, there are two reasons these youngsters haven’t moved to the cathouse. One - Hershey Bear has made so much progress; and two - Jo-Jo LOVES us. I think it would crush her to be away from the life she now knows with people. You see, in the cathouse, there are toys and scratching posts and cozy places to curl up in. There are other cats to be friends with. There is food and fresh water. But there are no human family members. Yes, I am in the cathouse EVERY day, usually more than once a day. And I talk to, pet, and play with everybody in that house. But it is NOT like having a human family of your very own. I wish for homes so fervently - because I need space to take in more needy ones, but also because I wish for EVERY cat in the cathouse a forever home and human of his or her very own.
Jo-Jo meets NO strangers. She is about three or four months old now. She is not yet spayed, and if adopted right away would have to be spayed by her new owner when that time comes. She loves every cat and every human. She has been exposed to my indoor dogs and does ok with them, too. She is playful and extremely loving. She plays hard, sleeps hard, and insists on attention.
Hershey Bear is less forward than Jo-Jo. In fact, he still spooks pretty easily. He had regressed in the cathouse to the point of avoiding interaction with me, but that is over. Hershey Bear now finds his way into bed with me EVERY night. He crawls right up under my chin, and flips (yes, flips) onto his back. He rolls around on me and slips into heaven when I shower him with affection. He plays more with Jo-Jo than with any of the other cats in my house, but he likes them all. He, too, has been exposed to my dogs and he tolerates them. He LOVES to stare out the windows. He is about four or five months old now and already neutered. I named him because when we rescued him he was a mixture of black and chocolate brown. Now every single hair that used to be milk chocolate-colored is a smokey gray color. He is absolutely stunning.
Some of the youngsters here have come in pairs. Juice and Sunshine. Mickey Mouse and Maverick. It only recently dawned on me that Jo-Jo and Hershey Bear were, in fact, a pair as well. They did not come to me at the same time, and they are not littermates (Hershey is older than Jo-Jo by about a month). But they both came from that same feral cat area where so many of the litters I’ve had here have come from. Hershey Bear was a single kitten from that spot. Then quite a bit later, Jo-Jo was a single kitten from that spot, too. And now . . . well, they are fast friends. SO - I will show you pictures of these two amazing kittens together. The pictures themselves tell the story of how wonderful it would be if someone out there might be thinking of adopting TWO. I will adopt them out separately because I so desperately want each of them to have a home. But if anyone is considering a pair, these two are in love.
Friends, please pass this along. FB it, tweet it, share it, email it. Winnie's Wish is looking for the PERFECT home for Jo-J0 and Hershey Bear. Is it you?

After looking at all the sweet pictures I think you should keep these two your self. They love you and your family . Then with that being said you can concentrate on getting the older cat house kitties adopted - the sunshines should go together to a loving home. I wish I was not over catted then I could take two but the way it is now here we are in the sleeping room with three cats and three doggies. It is no longer our personal bed room but a fury family bunk house. Warm and cozy and comforting. Every one needs a couple of bed furries to keep their feet warm at night -- love the pictures - great --- have a great day -- Ginny & The fur family-- computer parts will get here to day and I can do capitols and spell check -

No extra room here, Ginny. Besides, how could I ever pick these two over any of the others? They are all wonderful.

I had been about to adopt Hershey Bear or Maverick when the orphans, Rose Tyler and Thomas the Explorer came into our lives at four weeks needing someone who could bottle feed them. I just got a new laptop and as soon as I'm rested and back to blogging all of your cuties will find a place in my blog again! This post has already gotten a boost in signal on my FB!!

I think that Chrystal loves them all - I could not pick either. If anyone said to me pick one out of mine that would go to a good home then I would really have to think on it. I looked at the three night visitors on my porch eating tonight and even thought I don't know them I know their need. The need out there is so great. So many more homes are needed. Maybe a thanks giving wish for new homes will come true if we all concentrate together. The Florida juices need a home with loving parents. Frosting and The Gray girls need homes - prayers for homes for them all.....Ginny & The Fur Family

Oh, they are so sweet. We wish we could take in more, but we are 2 above the limit for our home. We wish them the best of luck, and hope they find a home together. It would be a shame to separate them I think.
