The events of this past weekend are what I plan to use to launch my biggest adoption push ever. Yes. Another rescue story. It Never Ends.
If you've been reading, I'll say right up front that I still don't have a third kitten. I have been driving to a remote area for two weeks (feels like two months) trying to rescue three kittens from a life of starvation in the middle of nowhere. The very first night we went, I saw three kittens way down the road in the distance. Two bailed into the deep grass beside the road, but the third came running directly at us. We brought Truly home that night.

After a few days of trapping, we ended up with Autumn.

I’ve been going to the area and trapping ever since - but no third catch. :(
Without a doubt, Truly and Autumn were kittens I did NOT need to take in. My cathouse is full. But they were living in an area completely devoid of people. There was no one anywhere to feed this little threesome. As many of you noted in your comments and as I suspected from the beginning, this was a dump job. Had this been a litter of feral kittens, we would never have seen them to begin with and Truly certainly wouldn’t have run directly at us. In addition, Truly and Autumn are now completely people-friendly. That happened in only a matter of days. Neither one was ever even a little bit aggressive. They hid out of fear but did not scratch or bite. Today - they are well on their way to being ready for a home. And that is good since I need to be able to get them adopted. But in the meantime, these two little sweethearts will move to the cathouse. I am over my comfortable number there. As soon as Hershey Bear and Jo-Jo move to the cathouse, followed by Truly and Autumn - my cathouse will be COMPLETELY MAXED OUT.
With this as the backdrop, imagine discovering yet another situation of dire circumstances. Picture this - a momma cat brings her four two-week old kittens to the back door step of a house that is about to become vacant. It’s beautiful weather, but a cold snap is on the way. Now throw in a woman in her eighties and a man in his nineties - the only two who know this little feline family exists. This is the story that played out over my weekend - and me without ONE SINGLE SPOT to help.
That story - starting tomorrow.

Wish I could take a few kitties as I cant where I live but If I was in the states and I could take a kitten or two it would have to be Truly and Mickey as I love black and white kittens!

Thinking like a cat and or dog. people have many reasons to dump animals and they justify them selves with - " they will find a home if I drop them near houses... " Wrong-- dead wrong. Animals need food, shelter, meds, and lots of love.. This is why everyone calls Chrystal. Chrystal gives large doses of love, along with necessities. If you are reading this post-please donate even if it is a very small amount. It mounts up. This calling takes heaps of cash and anything you can give helps the cause of the Furries. Andrea has her fun fun fund raiser still going - check it out. I talked to a man on the phone last night - he was desperate to find his old cat that the carpenters let out and didn't feel it important to catch - this family loves that old white cat with a few tri colored spots. I told him to think like a cat- look for fast food places with a good smell and call or go there and ask if a cat like that had been hanging around and if they saw him to call their number and they would come and get the cat - but don't chase the cat and scare it away..I do home they find the cat. For every jerk out there who dumps cats and dogs there are so many more people who love their pets and all animals... lets have a shout out for animal lovers... Ginny & The Fur Family

You're right, Chrystal. It never does end. But the end would be so much worse for so many without you there!

Oh no!! If I hadn't just adopted two orphaned kittens myself I would go ahead adopt one of the black kittens! I'm working on replacing my dead laptop (no telling whether it was kittens or upset Horde members who peed on it!) as well as getting up the money for kitten shots & a spay & neuter for little Rose and Thomas. We're sending out many purrs & prayers from here as well as sharing your FB whenever I have internet access. Once I manage to get a laptop again (I'm on my son's confiscated netbook at the moment) my blog will be back up so I'll be able to do adoption & donation shout outs again. BTW please please send me your address. I have some things to send to you.

Oh my gosh, more kitties! Serious help needed here!! Please please, post, share, help! Tell everyone you know about the kitties, ask them to tell everyone they know! Please, look at your own home and see if you can take someone in from the cathouse!
Homes are desperately needed, but so are funds. Please donate if you can, buy the book, get a brick, do what you can. The FUNdraiser is still going on over at my blog, and the cat house kitties are the ones who get the money, for shots, fixing, medicine, food, litter.. oh so many needs for oh so many kitties! Please, again please, do what you can!
