We had another perfect delivery. Yesterday morning, Beatrice brought forth SIX healthy kittens. Mom and babies are doing great. This has been SUCH a wonderful experience for us. We went through the last of Tulip’s pregnancy with her and the birthing experience was horrible. She delivered two, then her labor stopped. She was taken to the vet, where they could not save the remaining kittens AND we got extremely close to losing Tulip. After rushing those first two kittens to a nursing mom cat, they ended up dying as well.
Now we have TWO mom kitties in our maternity ward who have strong healthy litters. Moms are doing great. Kittens are ALL doing great. It is SO nice not to be worrying myself sick. Of course, it is very sad to know that ELEVEN more kitties have come in to the world and ALL will need homes. But it has been magnificent to see them thriving under the care of their mothers. This is definitely new for us. Now if Paris will deliver her Packages in like manner, our maternity ward experience will be complete.
Beatrice gave us two black, two black & white, and two gray & white.
Beatrice stepped out of the bed to get a bite to eat so I got a picture of the whole group. I also took pics of the kittens by twos. The picture of the two solid black ones did not turn out at all. But here are the pictures of the other two pairs.
My apologies to the last few folks with brick stories to be told. As happens so often here, even the best laid plans end up being modified. Those stories are still to come.

Piles of packages and accidents Oh My! :)
Not sure if you are for or against mixing kittens, but I've had several group moms and it works out nicely when they mother in a clowder. If the mothers get along and healthy, then letting them co-parent might help them all as that is their natural way of things.

Lucky babies, born into such a safe and loving environment! So many mama cats and their babies are struggling, how wonderful that you have made a safe place for this trio of moms...

Beatrice did very well and the kitts are perfect. I love black and white tuxedo cats. I have found that they do not shedd as much as some other colors. I have gray and whites and they are pretty also who ever adopts these twos are going to have twice the love and twice the fun. I hope Paris does have an easy time. I always find my self wondering how much it hurts a mother cat and feel extreme sympathy for them and even more love in my heart. Pain by any other name is still pain. This is why it is so emportant to spay and neuter your pets both dog and cat. Thank you Chrystal for all you do for the furry ones - you will be blessed. May the sun shine on your face and may the wind be at your back - yes I am part Irish -- Ginny & The Fur Family - remember to pick out your Easter kitty.

It is such a mixed blessing isnt it? Wonderful, absolutly fantastic that the kittens are mommies are healthy, but more kitties that need homes. If they had just been spayed.. But still, at least they will be now and these will be the last kittens for all three of these mommy kitties.
These kittens, thankfully have a shelter to help them find homes. The cathouse cats have only us. We need to find homes so that there's room for non-shelter kittens, and you know they will be showing up soon.

Actually, the current two batches of kittens are not mine to place. They are fosters from the shelter where Older Daughter works. We are giving these moms a less chaotic place to give birth and nurse these little ones. It's our ADULT kitties in the cathouse who still need wonderful homes.
